Why We Can't Go Slow

I don't know if I have it in me right now to comment much on the following two killings of gay teenagers. The links below are some of the most recent press and to some degree I hope they speak for themselves...
Of course these deaths are terrible, of course they are sad. And as people-- to understand the importance of human decency and equality and care, we also need to recognize the extent to which these things do not happen.

At least two more killings of gay men over the 2009 xmas holiday. A professor in Indiana and another man in the DC area. I hate adding to this list.
